Our Services
N & R Personnel Resources provides specialized and individualized direct support services delivered at a location suited to an individual’s needs across the Greater Toronto Area. We provide in-home, school, or educational program care, as well as day and residential care programs, and onsite support in nursing homes and retirement facilities. Our professional staff includes Child and Youth Workers (CYW) and Personal Support Workers (PSW)

Rachael Thompson- Owner and Director
Rachael had an early interest and passion in the field of care and support. She started working at 17 years old as a lunch supervisor for students with disabilities. This led her to full time study where she earned an Advanced Child and Youth Worker Diploma at Durham College. Ms. Thompson has worked in a diverse range of facilities and schools across the GTA in the fields of Mental Health and Addiction to the creation and implementation of daily behavior programs to a wide range of clients. She also has knowledge in the adult sector of DSO- Family passport funding and ODSP services, in assisting persons with disabilities get the proper funding and supports.
Child and youth worker description
Child and Youth Worker-assist and counsel children and adolescents who may be facing challenges in their personal life or at school. Some issues child and youth workers may help adolescents and children with include discrimination, bullying, mistreatment, substance abuse, and family issues, mental health struggle and more. CYW's have vast knowledge working with persons with a variety of different disabilities. They also provide programs based on the clients individual needs and behaviours.

Personal Support Worker description
Personal support workers (PSWs) care and provide daily supports for individuals who are ill, elderly or disabled who need help with a wide range of daily tasks. We at N&R make sure our clients are comfortable, safe and have a positive experience and know their emotional and physical well-being are being taken care of. We offer services for long-term care facilities and personal in-home care services

Personal Support Worker description
Disability applications can be filled out at 17 years old and clients will begin receiving funding at 18 years of age. ODSP does require the client to have and provide copies of proper documentation and proof of the disability, this could include the following:
IEP-Individual education plan, a Psychological assessment, and any other doctors assessments and diagnosis documentation.

DSO- Developmental Services of Ontario- Family Passport program
Developmental Services of Ontario and family passport applications are to be filled out at age 18. They also need proof of disability. DSO offers case management, housing, adult support workers, help to find volunteer or job placements and funding for workers and programs.
As your access point for adult developmental services is your area's DSO office. They will also guide and help connect you any ministry-funded services that may be available in your community.
